My name is Yelitza Romero Cano. I was born in the city of Palmira in Colombia and I live in this city. I studied at the San Vicente School where I graduated from high school. Now I am studying fourth semester of International Marketing and Advertising at Icesi University. I have always liked traveling and visiting new places. For example I have gone to Cartagena, Medellin, Barranquilla, and my favorite place Restrepo. My favorite place is Restrepo because its culture is very special; people are friendly; its environment is very natural and fresh and its food has a different flavor. I like food like pasta, chicken rice and fast foods, among others, but I specially love Sancocho, which is a typical dish in my country, and “chontaduro”, which is a nut we eat in Colombia. I love to dress comfortably, fashionably and my style is more casual. To have fun, I like to go shopping because I buy clothing, shoes and beautiful accessories or I like to travel to different places or I spend time with my family.

I wrote this blog about Restrepo because since I was a child I always have been carried to this wonderful town. This place reminds me of my childhood, I used to go with my family and visit others relatives. In this town people are friendly; its environment is very natural and fresh and its food has a different flavor. Maybe many people do not know this place. For that I want to show people the most relevant aspects of this site so its culture, its typical foods, its cultural center and its beautiful farms. That way people like me will want to visit it and realize that it is one of the many riches Colombia.

RESTREPO

If you want to visit a great place, where there is cultural variety, delicious foods, health environment, and friendly people, you should visit Restrepo Valle.

Since I was a child I have always liked to visit the lands of Restrepo. Its mountains are so big that I love to roll down hill them top to bottom. Its environment is very natural and it rarely hot. It is always fresh and you can feel comfortable anywhere, so if you want to rest, I recommend that you take a sheet and you lie down under a tree, I assure you that you will be asleep fast. When the night is coming everything is clouded and houses looks like haunted houses. My grandparents say that around farms at night the witches fly and sometimes children disappear, but I have never seen something so. I think that these stories are very romantic.

The economy of Restrepo is based on agriculture like coffee, pineapple, and livestock too. Besides, in Restrepo are preserved large relics of Calima culture and its church is one of the highest in Colombia.

Nayaré Recreational Center

The touristic attractive of Restrepo are its mountains, its farms, the calima Lake and the “La Rochela and Nayaré” recreational centers, La Rochela and Nayaré.

The celebrities of Restrepo are the Virgen del Carmen festivities in July, and its parties in December.

One of the places that I like to visit is the Plaza of Restrepo, because, you can eat many things, you can meet many people and people tell you their stories. Besides, that square is very cozy and is a place different to others places in which you are every day.

For these reasons that I have named you should visit Restrepo because is simply, WONDERFUL
